Genealogy on the Web

As more content becomes available over the internet, mostly from the acquisition by Ancestry.com of small sites, my own effort seems so tiny.  Be that as it may, I have been collecting information for more than fifty years. Some of you have seen my books. As of this writing, none of the content of any of my websites (listed below) may be found on Ancestry.com or any other website. It is all copyrighted and includes special collections which no one else can acquire. Take the traced genealogies, for example. They number in the thousands across these websites and include (where possible) photographs and videos. Who else can entertain you with a video of your family history? Also, subscribers to Georgia Pioneers get free brick wall help. I spend many long hours attempting to unravel brick walls for subscribers. It is both challenging and fun. Tracing Georgians is something that I have done since 1962. As a result, not only are my collections extensive, but I am quite familiar with Georgia families and know where to locate information. Nowadays, Ancestry.com is advertising 24/7 over the radio and television. Even political talk shows like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.  Can the little guy compete? The answer is "No".

Today the main thrust of my collections also centers around an area no one has touched. "old Wills". I spend hours and hours scanning and digitizing, page by page, records in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky. The last will and testament is an essential element of genealogical research and is the most telling so far as naming spouses, children, siblings and relatives is concerned. Actually, it is the quickest method of getting to the heart of the research.

I do so hope that you will find these websites and see if they will help you. So that you will know exactly what is available to members, the content is listed under the "What'sWhat" tab.
