Marriages and Marriage Licenses on Georgia

In the State of Georgia the early licenses were printed at the top of the form and the actual ceremony at the bottom. It is easy to pick up the date of the marriage license by not reading the whole form. Many county records are transcribed on Georgia Pioneers as well as from microfilmed prints of the actual indexes. The indexes provide the names of the brides and grooms, and in some instances, the dates. They are included because of the large number of actual marriage records which were lost.
